Brendan Corcoran talks to KCLR about The Elephant Man

We’re keen supporters of KATS Theatre Group in Kilkenny and are delighted to be welcoming them back to the Watergate in September for the first Irish amateur performance of The Elephant Man.

Brendan Corcoran, long associated with the Watergate and Watergate Productions in particular, is linking up with KATS for the very first time and he was a guest on The Frequency with Ken McGuire on KCLR this week.

Listen below to the clip of Brendan talking about the back story of The Elephant Man, then join us at the theatre this Friday at 7pm in Bosco’s Café for the group’s launch of The Elephant Man.

Tickets are currently on sale online and via the box office.

Tickets For ‘Star Of The Sea’ Now On Sale

We’re delighted to be bringing Star Of The Sea to the Watergate this coming October and tickets have just gone on sale this morning online.

In the winter of 1847 the famine ship Star of the Sea sets sail for the Promised Land. Among the passengers are a maidservant, a ruined lord, and a ruthless murderer. Moving between the wild landscape of Connemara, grimy London streets, and the claustrophobic confines of the famine ship, this sweeping production charts the lives of the three characters, from the childhoods that shaped them to their final, fateful journey.

Book tickets here – performing 3 October 2015

Told through Moonfish’s signature style of bi-lingual theatre, the journey comes to life as six performers use projection, physicality, live sound effects and music to conjure the worlds of the characters on a bare stage.

Based on the best-selling novel by Joseph O’Connor, and a sell-out hit of the Galway International Arts Festival 2014, this new piece of Irish theatre
is unmissable.
