The Watergate Theatre are delighted to welcome Opera Theatre Company for a performance of Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’. Enchanting and evocative, Mozart’s final opera is a lyrical love story set against an atmospheric backdrop of fantasy and mischief. This profound but light hearted tale is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages combining moments of high comedy with intrigue, kidnap and elemental trials.

Opera Theatre Company is delighted to celebrate 25 years of touring opera throughout Ireland with this magical and uplifting opera. The sublime score ripples with irresistable charm; from the stratospheric arias of the Queen, to the glorious melodies of Papageno, both reflecting Mozart’s genius and enthusiasm for life. Sung in English with Music Direction by Brenda Hurley, this production is diredcted by Annilese Miskimmon and designed by Nicky Shaw, with lighting design by Sinead McKenna.

Opera Theatre Company’s chamber ensemble performs the captivating score by a cast including: Owen Gilhooly, Adrian Dwyer, Alison Bell, Emma Morwood, Matthew Trevino, Lawrence Thackeray, Mary O’Sullivan, Joan O’Malley, Mihaela Loredana Chirvase, Nathan Morrison, and Eoin Hynes.
